who is kittenteeth?

kittenteeth is the long-time moniker of Nikki Barron, a multi-disciplined creative, entrepreneur, educator and advocate.

Nikki Barron

First and foremost, I consider myself an artist. I work with graphic design, photography and videography to explore the world and express myself.

I am a marketing expert with over a decade of experience in building businesses. I hold a degree in graphic design from North Seattle College.

When I am not working, you can find me using my marketing powers for good with the WXM Collective, where I am the co-founder. The WXM collective is an intersectional affinity group based in the Northwest, with a focus on making the music industry a more equitable space. Our group currently has over 900 active members who work in the music industry, including musicians, songwriters, producers, engineers, marketers, managers, and more. I am also a member of Black Fret, a membership-based community of art patrons dedicated to supporting exceptional local musicians.

Coaching & Services

I believe strongly in artists learning the skills to run their own creative business. Even if you grow to a point that you hire a team, having a general sense of how things work and how you want your business run is integral to your decision making.

I offer a limited amount of services that I feel I am uniquely suited to offer such as photography, videography, graphic design and public relations. These skills and relationships can take a long time to hone and develop as well sometimes require specialty equipment. Outside of these areas I really encourage all artists to learn how to self-manage and market their work.

Get to Know Me

Meyers-Briggs is a fun way to get a snapshot at my personality. I understand that humans can’t really be boiled down to a few lettered traits, but I think it’s an interesting exercise. You can read my full Meyers-Briggs profile here

  • INTUITIVE 80% 80%
  • THINKING 53% 53%
  • ASSERTIVE 92% 92%
  • JUDGING 50% 50%
  • EXTRAVERTED 79% 79%

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Marketing philosophy

Community Above All Else

I love being a part of and building communities. I love that the internet is a place where you can find your people. Do you have strong feelings about Pluto’s planet status? There’s a group for that. Interested in becoming a vegan? There is a group for that. Is your cat an asshole? There’s a group for that too. Communities are amazing.

Community Building marketing techniques are about taking the impact of in-person relationship building to the online space. It’s about transforming your messages from one-way communication to two-way communication. As a marketer, I don’t place importance on the number of impressions the messages’ receive above the level of engagement. Why? Because an engaged audience is much more valuable.

Everything I will teach you comes from a place motivated by my love for community. I want to help you build, grow and engage with your community. It is out there, we will find it and your art will be a natural fit for them making it a win win for everyone.
